Pune details

Pune is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra after Mumbai and largest in the Western Ghats. It is the eighth largest metropolis in India. Pune was previously called as Poona and was originally called Punawadi. It is the administrative capital of the Pune district. In previous years it was the center of power of the Maratha Empire. Pune is located at 500 meters above sea level on Deccan plateau at the junction of Mula and Mutha river.



Pune is popularly known for its educational properties. It is also the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Pune has well-established major sugar and glass industries since 1950-1960s. To make a stay in Pune and explore its beauty many hotels in pune are available.

Various ways to get in to the Pune-
  • By Plane: Military Airport located at Lohegaon operates all commercial air carriers as Pune does not have its own airport.   • By Bus: Three National Highways (NH) are connected to Pune and three Bus stations are there in Pune. They are Pune Station, Shivaji Nagar and Swargate. Out of these the largest is Shivaji Nagar Bus Station. Hotels near Shivaji Nagar Bus Station are available for booking.
