Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai

Nehru Planetarium in Mumbai is a part of Nehru Center. It was commissioned on 3rd March, 1977 by the Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi and has grown into the center for scientific studies of astronomy and the meeting of scientists and scholars discussions and lectures occurs here. And these are arranged periodically on various stellar and Astronomical events.


These programs are specially organized for inspiring students, which include Science elocution, science quiz, Astro-painting, Astro-quiz and Astro-poetry competitions.There are special arrangements made for those who wishes to watch, study or photograph Solar and Lunar eclipse or other events. For the visitors who are eager to watch these phenomenon telescopes are installed outside the planetarium.

It has a mini planetarium which can be taken out to remote rural areas and project its shows to children and people to make them aware of the Astronomical progress.
These shows are presented in Hindi, English and Marathi and therefore are highly popular and in great demand..
